Before visiting my web site this late material has been added to provide more recent events relating to transportation to get a better perspective of what's ahead. You be the judge.

Here's some info relating to the EV (electric vehicle) auto and its related infrastructure.For instance teslamotors.com has developed a vehicle operating at 2 cents a mile, it reaches 60 mph in less than 4 seconds and its lithium-ion battery had a range of 240 miles. One of the best Italian make Car raced such an EV...on takeoff the EV just vanished. Chevrolet has a new EV called VOLT with its own built-in battery regenerating power pack for long trips which will be removed on future cars when battery swap stations become more available. Exxon-mobil just purchased a company in Japan which has a patented lithium-ion battery and plans to manufacture them 'en masse' for lease at their future 'swap' stations...maybe..?? Compared to the gas polluting cars of today the EV emits none..and its simplicity can lower its price tag by half. It needs no oil, no prestone, no radiator, no engine, no transmission, no differential, no gas tank, and maybe no brakes if we can power the motors into reverse instead till it stops. Rather than one electric motor under the hood with drive shafts and axles four small in-wheel motors with identical parts can replace its higher costs and also provide a 'four wheel drive' instead. Swapping batteries for electric vehicles is nothing new, even street cars of old (1880s) did it to replenish power for them. Back in the 1980s while exploring designs of quick battery swap stations possibilities which were also shown later in my STREET RAG issues and which included many other US patents shown in my web sites in page 3aaa also but quite complex. As of now it was suggested over 60,000 different electric vehicles have been built by many entrepreneurs and are roaming the planet. (see GREEN CAR CONGRESS) But because they are the "plug-in" types they won't be the final choice until standard swap batteries are agreed upon by all countries. What is missing is a standard size and voltage for the battery. Its content then becomes irrelevent. The range and the costs(per mile) at the swap stations can vary. Upon entrance the car is scanned to register the mileage attained by the now depleted batteries and the user pays a few pennies per mile traveled. The quality of the batteries are then irrelevent. A built in computer in the battery would provide needed data history such as who used it, who charged it, the mileage, even when to retire it. Those batteries are then salvaged to recycle some or all of its materials. Now, more and more the battery swap station is being considered as the best possible choice to replace the gas stations of today. One of many of those late comers...my concepts date back to the 1980s...is a guy from Israel who is setting up a company called Project Better Place and wants to set up battery swap stations in Israel to begin his venture with 200 million dollars supplied by the Israeli government. McCain is entering the fray by offering 300 million dollars (tax money ?) for the best EV car instead of for its infrastructure...John..!!..don't forget to include my dual mode maglev system invented in the early sixties that professor emerituses of major universities are trying now to claim as theirs and which will provide high speed (mach??) traveling in the near future and eliminating the need for ever flying again (no more oil). A connection with Alaska and Asia tunnels thru the Bering Strait Diomede islands also from Quebec to Greenland, Iceland, faroe Islands to Scotland and toEurope and thus connecting most nations of the planet. Let's keep an ear close to the ground. The sudden drop of the DOW on Wall Street are more than likely caused by sales of stockholders etc to raise cash in a hurry to move into these hundreds of trillion$ ventures and gain an advantage for the big power brokers over other fence sitting investors and thus again have the high hand and controlling our destinies like they did over the centuries. Regardless, transportation soon will be totally different of what we've seen previously. As suggested earlier...note.. When interfacing the vehicle with the swap stations consideration also should be kept in mind that long distance travel in the near future will require maglev guideways where those electric vehicles must also interface with them to then permit its use for world travel.-- see -- http://trillions.topcities.com -- Check index at the bottom of it. Their site has many existing plug-in type EVs presently manufactured around the world but without provisions incorporated in those vehicles for future 'quick-swap' standard batteries. Hopefully soon all Departments Of Transportation on the planet will meet to establish one standard size and voltage so that we, The World can get moving into this new infrastructure as soon as possible. China, Russia, and India....with half the world's population at this time and who may be ready for mass production of such vehicles for their own use, will very likely opt to choose that new direction first.(While growing and keeping the greedy money lenders out of it). Not long after will the rest of the world make the transition also when their present vehicles gradually move to the junk yard. I.E.-They'll get too costly to use or maintain.

One letter I received above in 1971 from THE BOEING COMPANY relative to my Dual Mode Maglev concept presented to their people then can give us a hint why some are now going all out to try and claim it. It was sent to me by Dennis E.Keenan--Manager-New Ventures And it reads: May 26, 1971 Dear Mr. Marchand: We have reviewed the litterature forwarded to us relative to your transportation system concept. As you are aware, The Boeing Company has entered into the field of surface transportation and is presently concentrating on people-mover types of systems. The concept you have proposed is most interesting in that we believe it represents the next generations of systems beyond the Morgantown concept. Your information has been forwarded to Mr. W.C.Galloway, who is responsible for the Boeing Company's efforts in circulation and distribution systems. I have requested that Mr. Galloway keep in touch with you relative to the applicability of your concepts and the potential interest our company may have in some future applications of those concepts. ALthough I contacted many by Email who want you to believe they initiated the dual mode maglev transport system and who even formed a debate to reinforce the notion that they own it. With half the world population also (China, India, and Russia) growing in leaps and bounds wanting EVs, pressure will be put on the oil companies to lower their prices in a hurry to have the rest of the present gas car owners still as their customer longer. Who killed the "electric car"? (July 2006 movie Document) ..I did.! Well, only as we know them now. General Motors and others have seen my web pages and saw new possibilities that go way beyond the present plug-in type EVs where one has to wait hours leave alone an unsure plug in location once far from home. Here in NYC in the early 1990s, issues of my newsletter "The Street Rag" all about ideas and now also in my web page above was distributed at the UN Plaza,on Wall Street,near Times Square, etc., It contained many new features for future transportation that are now being copied by many. The battery exchange stations using a standard size that fits all cars,trucks, buses, and recharged in towers would take only a minute to replace. Later issues had the passenger capsule separable from the carrier.(Now GMC calls it their fuel cell 'skate board')These capsules would then ride my DUAL MODE MAGLEV SYSTEM which many, including prof.Ameritus are trying to claim as theirs. In other words the auto industry very soon will sell only the cabin capsule to the public while the interfacing carriers maybe owned by leasing companies such as Avis rent-a-car or by any governments. The MAGLEV system then becomes a universal network for high speed cargo and passenger displacement. General Motors and others are now seeing the future differently and thus requiring an entirely new thinking. A global solar energy system is also in web page(7) with a never ending supply of it..all free-- GM and many others saw my web page and now have second thoughts...
